Exein, the world’s largest embedded runtime security provider, and Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), today announced a strategic partnership to integrate Exein’s AI-powered cybersecurity technology into Kontron’s advanced solutions.
Through this collaboration, Exein’s runtime security technology becomes a standard feature of KontronOS and KontronAIShield, enhancing Kontron’s portfolio with real-time, AI-driven protection against evolving cyber threats.
Real-Time Protection for Critical Industries
Together, we are delivering an end-to-end, scalable solution that helps Kontron’s 3,000+ customers and protects millions of devices worldwide, across strategic industries such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, automotive, critical infrastructure, and aerospace.
These industries gain built-in runtime security that safeguards entire device fleets against both known and emerging cyber threats, with adaptive solutions that integrate with Kontron's existing protections. By embedding security directly into connected devices, the partnership creates a foundation of trust and operational continuity for industries where downtime or compromise can have critical consequences.
Building Regulatory-Ready Cyber Resilience
This partnership marks a significant milestone for European cybersecurity. By combining Kontron’s long-standing expertise in industrial computing with Exein’s device-level runtime protection, devices now benefit from holistic protection while meeting current and upcoming EU regulatory requirements.
Together, we are tackling the challenges of the European ecosystem, ensuring compliance with RED 3.3—which began enforcement in August 2025—and the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act, which will require manufacturers to report vulnerabilities starting in September 2026, before the Act comes fully into force in December 2027.
By aligning with both existing and new European regulatory frameworks, the partnership not only provides technical defense but also empowers manufacturers and operators to bring products to market faster, with full confidence in meeting both resilience and compliance requirements.

Leadership Perspectives
Gianni Cuozzo, Founder & CEO of Exein, said:
“We are proud to partner with an industry IoT leader like Kontron to bring device-level Cybersecurity to a global scale. By embedding Exein’s technology into Kontron’s trusted platforms, we are creating a new standard of security, providing manufacturers and operators with resilience, compliance, and peace of mind. This partnership marks a defining moment for European Cybersecurity, as together we are fortifying Europe’s position as a global leader in securing the connected future”
Stefan Eberhardt, Business Developer IoT Software, Kontron Europe, added:
“With this partnership, we extend our Cybersecurity portfolio to cover the full spectrum of potential threat scenarios. By moving far beyond traditional antivirus and security tools, we embed resilience directly into all embedded products, regardless of whether green or brownfield – creating a new level of trust and protection for our customers, from Edge to Cloud.”
